The year-to-date figures are also encouraging, tracking 15% ahead of 2024 and 21% ahead of 2023. Universal reigned supreme, thanks to “Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy,” which delivered $49.6 million for the month, securing the title of the top-grossing film of the year so far.
The latest chapter in the beloved franchise opened with a record $15.7 million, surpassing the $13.4 million debut of 2004’s “Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason.” It has also eclipsed that title’s lifetime gross of $46.4 million and is steadily approaching the totals of “Bridget Jones’s Diary” ($54.2 million) and “Bridget Jones’s Baby” ($62.1 million).
The film achieved a stellar 4.5-star rating in PostTrak exit polls and an impressive 96% Total Positive score among female audiences.
