On Saturday, the real-life inspiration behind the 2011 film Soul Surfer took to Instagram with distressing news that her young nephew Andrew had drowned in the bathtub the night before, but still has a heartbeat.
She revealed he was airlifted to the Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women & Children in Hawaii and pleaded for any information that could give him the “best chance” at survival.
