Prison Break reboot has received a substantial update at Hulu.According to a Deadline report, Hulu has ordered a pilot episode of the planned Prison Break reboot, which was first reported on in early November.At the time, it was reported that Hulu was early into the development stages for a reboot, though things weren’t firmed up just yet.
Now, however, Hulu’s ordering of a pilot series suggests that development on the series is moving in a positive direction.Deadline reports that the casting for its pilot episode has not yet begun.
The Prison Break reboot is being helmed by Mayans M.C. and The Outlaws co-creator Elgin James, who is working on the project with four executive producers from the original series, Dawn Olmstead, Marty Adelstein, Neal Moritz and Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring.While details surrounding the reboot are being kept under wraps, it was reported in November that the new episodes won’t follow the central cast members of the original series, played Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller.It is unclear when the reboot’s pilot will air.In the original Prison Break series, Purcell and Miller portrayed brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield.
Lincoln is sentenced to death for a crime he didn’t commit, while Michael then crafts an elaborate plan to try to get his brother out of prison and clear his name.
