The family left their London home, Apartment 1A in Kensington Palace, for the more modest Adelaide Cottage. It was reported that the move was partly to be closer to the late Queen Elizabeth.

Adelaide Cottage also offers more privacy and space for their children to live normal lives. The four-bedroom property doesn't have room for live-in staff, so the family have the whole place to themselves, with some staff reportedly coming in during the day to assist according to the Mirror.

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe shared with OK!, "I think they surprised a lot of people when they moved there," adding, "There are plenty of other places they could have moved to, but Adelaide Cottage fits with their desire as parents to be a normal family, where there aren't servants and they don't have 30 rooms.
