The Easter service is usually a big royal event with everyone dressed in their Sunday best. But this year, the annual Easter Mattins service was a smaller gathering with some key members of the Firm missing.
King Charles attended alongside his wife Queen Camilla in his first major appearance since his cancer diagnosis, along with Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.The Prince and Princess of Wales along with their three children were absent this year after Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis.
The King's nieces Princess Beatrice and Eugenie, and their husbands Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank, who all attended last year, were also missing from the royal outing.Their absence comes after Beatrice and Eugenie were reportedly feeling "upset" because Charles hadn't asked them to help with royal duties.
The King took a step back from royal duties following his cancer diagnosis and Kate Middleton is also out of action following her abdominal surgery and cancer announcement.
