A month on from Her Majesty the Queen’s death, doting grandson Prince William reportedly travelled back to Scotland to visit Balmoral.
During the trip, the father-of-three, 40, made a pilgrimage to Craigowan Lodge, which was lovingly known as the late Queen’s bolthole. The property on the family’s 50,000 acre estate is said to have been used for informal events over the years, and was a “favourite” of Queen Elizabeth’s.
It’s said to hold a place close to William’s heart as well, as it’s where he used to go hunting with his grandfather Prince Philip.
The last time Prince William visited the Scottish estate was when he rushed there alongside other members of the Royal Family in an attempt to be by his grandmother’s side in her final hours.
