The Prince of Wales has pulled out of attending the memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece at Windsor Castle on Tuesday 27 February due to a personal matter, Kensington Palace has announced.
Now that Prince William has bowed out, Queen Camilla is taking over and will lead a royal party at St.George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.
While Kensington Palace did not give further detail on the reason for William's decision, it was confirmed that the Princess Of Wales continues to be doing well following her recent abdominal surgery.The late King Constantine of Greece was William's godfather, with King Charles sharing a close friendship with him.
Constantine’s father, King Paul, was a first cousin and sailing partner to the late Prince Philip. The Prince of Wales called the Greek royal family who are attending the service to let them know he was unable to attend.
