Prince Phillip was reportedly "spitting blood" after discovering that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wanted to leave the Royal Family.According to Christopher Andersen, author of Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan, the late Duke of Edinburgh told a trusted aide: "we were wrong about her all along".

The royal author claimed that Prince Phillip went straight to the Queen after hearing the news to express his anger at the couple.

He was said to have been furious that the couple made the announcement without informing senior royals first, reports the Daily Star.In the book, the aide added that Philip had no knowledge of social media platform Instagram but was “furious, deeply hurt, spitting blood” when he learned of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s joint announcement.

According to the aide, Philip shouted “this shows a complete lack of respect” as he ranted to the Queen about the situation.
