Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have paused their search for a UK residence until they sort out security concerns with the Home Office, insiders have claimed. The Duke of Sussex has been granted permission to appeal a High Court decision made in June, which rejected his challenge against the Home Office's move to downgrade his personal security during visits to the UK."Harry really does want to spend more time in the UK but doesn't feel comfortable doing that until the security issues have been ironed out," a source revealed."He and Meghan planned on looking for a part-time home near Windsor this year and hoped that the appeals process would be heard before the end of July so that they could properly start their search.
However, the court process seems to be taking its time." The legal battle began in 2020 when Prince Harry sued the Home Office over its decision to alter the level of taxpayer-funded protection he received after stepping back as a working Royal with Meghan, reports the Express.
In February, the High Court deemed the Home Office's decision lawful and dismissed Harry's case, and in April, it denied him the chance to take the ruling to a higher court.
Nonetheless, in June, the Court of Appeal agreed to consider Harry's challenge regarding his police protection after a direct plea from his legal team.Prince Harry has been denied a request to expedite his appeal, with hopes of having it heard by the end of July.
