Prince Charles opposed Beatrice and Eugenie becoming senior royals, book claims

Prince Charles didn't want Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie to become prominent members of the Royal Family, a new book has claimed.

Royal expert Robert Lacey made the claims in his book Battle of Brothers - which he says upset the princesses' father, Prince Andrew.

Lacey's book suggests the York sisters, who he describes as "lively and intelligent" could have played useful roles in the Royal Family.

He adds their presence would have been especially helpful after Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior royals and left the UK for a life in LA.
