Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.

He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.

The Queen has been spotted leaving Windsor with her son Prince Andrew as they make their way to Prince Philip's memorial service.

Her Majesty and her disgraced son were snapped sitting side by side in a car, just one hour after it was revealed she would be attending the event for her late husband.

The service is Andrew's first public appearance since settling a civil sex claim against him, writes The Mirror.Andrew's daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will also be at the Abbey and they will both be accompanied by husbands Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank.The Duke of York's attendance at the royal event will be his first public appearance since the out-of-court agreement – revealed in court documents in mid-February – was made with his accuser Virginia Giuffre.Andrew will join his mother the Queen alongside other royals including Prince Charles, Camilla, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George at the event.Andrew stepped down from royal duties in November 2019.
