Sharleen Spiteri has revealed a new hack for opening jars that's completely changed her life. She revealed on Claudia Winkleman's Radio 2 show that a friend recently gave her the "insane" tip.

Sharleen recommends whacking a tight jar lid hard with a wooden spoon, saying it's the easiest way to remove it. The 55-year-old said: “Hold it in your hand.Take a wooden spoon and smack the rim at the side once.

It makes this noise - it goes pop - and it just opens. It’s insane.” Sharleen said she's previously tried everything to open difficult jars, including tapping lids when they're upside down.

But nothing's ever worked as well as this new wooden spoon hack.The delighted singer has been showing her friends and family too.
