Dr Kailash Chand OBE, was renowned for his work as a GP in Tameside, and for fighting to stop the privatisation of the NHS. Colleagues and local politicians announced his sudden and shock death on social media this evening. Kailash Chand was named on the list of the Health Service Journal's top 50 healthcare pioneers from black and minority ethnic backgrounds.
