A man who had spent the night drinking in Paisley with his partner ended up violently shaking her by the head.Christopher Carnihan, 44, grabbed Stacey Buchanan by the head with both hands and violently shook her, calling her a ‘f*****g idiot.’In court on Monday, Carnihan admitted he assaulted his partner and shouted and swore at her on September 21, 2019.Procurator Amber Feeney told Paisley Sheriff Court that Carnihan and his partner had been out drinking in Paisley at various pubs on Friday, September 20.Ms Feeney explained: “Around 2am on Saturday, September 21, both made their way to Causeyside Street from New Street when a witness saw the accused swearing at the complainer. Sign up to our newsletters here. “The complainer was walking away but he was following close behind swearing and he stated, ‘You don’t know how lucky you are.’“Police were on mobile patrol when they drove past and heard the accused shouting.“They lowered the driver’s window and observed the accused walking behind the complainer and swearing at her.“Police then observed Carnihan grab the complainer’s head with two hands and began violently shaking it, stating ‘f*****g idiot.’“Officers shouted at the accused to identify himself and stop.“The accused turned towards the vehicle and shouted, ‘Who the f**k do you think your talking to?’ and ‘What are you going to do, you couple of dafties.’“He was then arrested, cautioned and charged and made no reply."
