Police 'smashed a door down' of a house amid fears people were inside as the home next door went up in flames, residents have claimed.
Emergency services raced to Totland Close in Levenshulme on Tuesday (June 4) after a semi-detached home caught fire. Huge plumes of smoke could be seen billowing overhead amid the major blaze, as a number of fire engines attended the scene and cordoned off the residential street.
Dramatic video footage from a nearby tower block showed the extent of the fire. Neighbours were evacuated while fire crews worked to dampen the flames.
No casualties were reported and emergency services left the scene a number of hours later.
