Police raid house in search for missing Scots man who vanished 23 years ago

A home in North Shields has been raided by police over the alleged murder of a Scottish man who vanished in England over 20 years ago.

Robert Scott Clive, otherwise known as Scott, disappeared after a night out in the North Tyneside town on October 10, 2002.The then 30-year-old vanished ten months after moving to the area from Stranraer.

While no body has ever been found in search of the missing labourer, officers previously confirmed they believe Scott to be dead.The alarm was initially raised by the labourer's family in Dumfries and Galloway after they failed to hear from him for several days.

At first, Northumbria Police treated Scott as a missing person but several weeks later a murder probe was launched - despite no body being found.
