Police officer raced to hospital after incident outside Glasgow Central

A police officer has been injured following an incident outside Glasgow Central last night.Emergency services were called to a disturbance involving two men on Gordon Street in the city centre at around 9.45pm on Saturday.

A police officer injured during the incident was raced to hospital for treatment.Pictures shared with Glasgow Live showed several officers in attendance alongside ambulance crews.

An area outside the Betfred and Ladbrokes betting shops could be seen cordoned off while officers carried out enquiries at the scene.The injured policeman was released after treatment but two 39-year-old men were arrested and charged in connection with this incident.

They are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.45pm, officers attended a disturbance involving two men on Gordon Street, Glasgow.
