Stephen Fry has been rushed to hospital after falling during an on-stage appearance at a festival at the O2.The 66-year-old broadcaster was appearing at the CogX Festival in London last week when he fell while he was coming off the stage.
He had just given a speech and was exiting the stage when he fell from the edge of the floor - falling six feet.The Mirror reports that the QI star suffered rib and leg injuries and left the arena in a wheelchair following his tumble.
It is understood he has been taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, the severity of which are unknown. An audience member said: "It looked like it was too dark and there didn't look like there was a handrail.
He fell two metres to the floor. He looked to have been hurt as he had to leave in a wheelchair." The event is billed as "The festival inspiration, impact and transformational change." Among topics being discussed was the impact that AI might have on the world of cinema.
