Police chiefs have issued an urgent warning to Range Rover owners after a spate of recent thefts. A number of the luxury 4X4s were stolen from homes in Tameside overnight.

All the thefts happened in the Hyde area on Monday evening into Tuesday, police said. Greater Manchester Police's Tameside South and West division issued an alert on Facebook and urged drivers to take action to improve security.
Anyone with a keyless ignition system should keep fobs in special pouches overnight, the force said. They can stop thieves from cloning a key remotely and taking a vehicles.
