Manchester City's EFL Trophy fixture at Bradford on Tuesday was halted in the second half after a racist comment from a supporter was allegedly aimed at a Blues player.
The game was stopped on 76 minutes as referee Ben Toner walked to the dugouts and spoke to both managers as well as stewards and officials.
Bradford caretaker player-manager Kevin McDonald later said he had heard a racist comment from the stand behind him towards a City player and immediately reported it to officials.
After a brief delay, play restarted and the game finished 3-0 to Bradford. Just before full-time, supporters were reminded over the tannoy that abuse of any kind, including racial abuse, is not tolerated at the University of Bradford Stadium.
