Police investigating the terrorist attack at a Liverpool hospital have carried out a controlled explosion in public park, it was confirmed tonight.
No further details have been revealed, but the explosion was conducted at Sefton Park. Police said there was 'believed to be no wider risk to the public'.
The investigation was continuing, a force added. The controlled explosion was carried out 'as a precaution' and came as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident.
