A police car was left wrecked after a crash with a tram in Oldham this morning. The smash happened close to Manchester Street roundabout, near the Westwood Metrolink stop at around 6.45am.
A Metrolink spokesperson confirmed that a tram and police car collided. A picture taken at the scene showed the damaged police vehicle with a smashed-up bonnet.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said the officers in the car were uninjured. Restrictions were also put in place on the Manchester Street roundabout following the crash. Metrolink services on the Oldham line are now back to normal.
