The Good Morning Britain host took to Twitter to share his outrage at the news, dubbing the new series "pointless" without Kim portraying Samantha Jones.
Piers, 55, retweeted the news that Sex And The City would be returning to HBO, but without American actress Kim, 64. He told his following the reboot should be called "The City" without the iconic - if not crucial - character. "Sex And The City without Kim Cattrall should be named The City," Piers wrote in response. "This is pointless." Not alone in his thinking, fans quickly flooded the comments to agree that a "huge mistake" was being made in continuing.
