Piers Morgan 'exacts revenge’ on ITV by 'nicking the best people’ from GMB for new show

Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan is reportedly celebrating having the last laugh following his explosive exit from the ITV show last year.

The star is said to have “exacted revenge” on his former employer by poaching some of the broadcaster’s “best people” for his new programme on TalkTV.Piers quit his role on GMB last March after storming off set live on-air following a row over Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.The infamous TV moment sparked a slew of Ofcom complaints, including one from the Duchess of Sussex herself, after Piers claimed he didn’t believe her damning complaints about life in the Royal Family.Although Piers’ GMB exit was mired in controversy, he is now said to be getting his own back on ITV by “nicking” several important members of staff to work with him on a new channel, TalkTV, which is set to be launched by Rupert Murdoch in the UK later this year.The Mail on Sunday claims that a source close to Piers “jubilantly” said: “We’ve nicked all the best people.”They added: “Piers is not a man to cross. “He was forced out of ITV totally unnecessarily and now he has dealt the ultimate revenge by taking their stars.“He has only hired the people who he thinks are the best so this is a really big blow to the channel.”Express.co.uk has contacted representatives for Piers and ITV for comment.
