Work has begun on several Greater Manchester schools affected by dangerous crumbly concrete as 'mitigating measures' are put in place.
Pictures show construction beginning on Altrincham College and Sale Grammar - two of the six schools in the region confirmed to have reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC).
It comes after education secretary Gillian Keegan admitted this morning that 'hundreds' of schools could be affected by the material, which poses a collapse risk. Six Greater Manchester schools have so far confirmed they are affected. 'Mitigating measures' have been put in place at Altrincham College, Sale Grammar, Canon Slade High School, and All Saints C of E primary in Newton Heath.
