The actor who's been tipped to take on the role of Phillip Schofield in a TV series about the scandal surrounding his ITV exit has been revealed by bookmakers.The frontrunner who could play the 61-year-old presenter in the rumoured series is none other than Happy Valley star James Norton.The This Morning scandal is now reportedly at the centre of a potential TV series that will explore the incidents which led to Schofield's recent departure, titled The Runner.
Former This Morning host Phillip quit his role on TV after he admitted to an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a younger male colleague earlier this year.
According to Metro, a bookies has done some number crunching and revealed the Happy Valley actor, who is also one of the favourites to play the next James Bond, is the clear frontrunner.The actor, who is perhaps best known for playing killer Tommy Lee Royce in Happy Valley, has been placed at 4/1 by BoyleSports to play Phillip.
He's followed closely by Michael Sheen given his history of impersonating prominent figures in biopics, including Tony Blair and Brian Clough.
