He is currently the co-presenter of This Morning (2002–present) and Dancing on Ice (2006–2014, 2018–present) alongside Holly Willoughby. His other work for ITV includes All Star Mr & Mrs (2008–2016), The Cube (2009–2015), and 5 Gold Rings (2017–present). Schofield gained national attention working for the BBC, first as a continuity presenter for Children's BBC on weekdays from 1985 to 1987, then as a presenter on the children's Saturday morning magazine show Going Live! between September 1987 and April 1993.

This Morning at the last minute leaving co-host Holly Willoughby to present on her own as he made himself ill over sexuality secret.

The presenter, who was born in Oldham, was in such turmoil he fled to his London flat where to messaged Steph, his wife of 27 years.

Speaking in his new memoir, Phillip said he told her: "I couldn't do the show." The 58-year-old says: "I sat alone in the flat, staring at the walls, as This Morning started on the other side of London."It was a very stupid thing to do...all my closest friends knew how ragged my head was, but no one except Steph knew why." On another day he had to rush off set halfway through a fashion item on the ITV show to be sick, the Mirror reports.
