Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Liverpool team-mate Steven Gerrard after some questioned his induction into the Premier League Hall of Fame this week.The former England captain has joined seven others in entering the exclusive group, which was kicked off by Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry, but is so far the only one not to have won the competition.The Rangers boss made 504 appearances between 1998 and 2015, scoring 120 goals, posting 92 assists and winning a total of 255 matches with his boyhood club.Despite his undeniable quality in the middle of the park, Gerrard was unable to drag Liverpool to the title having managed second-place finishes on three separate occasions.Described by the league as 'a place for celebration, admiration and nostalgia' and 'home of the greats'.
