Former Chelsea and England goalkeeper Peter Bonetti has died aged 78 after a long-term illness. Nicknamed 'The Cat', Bonetti made his Chelsea debut at 18, and spent a total of 19 years, in two spells, at Stamford Bridge.
He also made seven appearances for his country, representing the Three Lions at the World Cup in 1970 and being a non-playing member of the squad at the 1966 World Cup in England, as they emerged triumphant.
Bonetti did not receive a medal for the Three Lions' 1966 success as rules stipulated that only the 11 starting players received medals.
But he and the remaining members of the squad - including the likes of Jimmy Greaves and Norman Hunter - received theirs in a 2009 ceremony at 10 Downing Street.
