A Perthshire-based charity group - TASH4Ukraine - marked a milestone last week, getting yet another delivery ready to leave the warehouse at Errol.Nearly a year since the invasion of Ukraine started, the volunteers wrapped and labelled their 1000th pallet of aid.

Tayside and Strathearn Help for Ukraine has continued when other aid projects have closed. So to be still pumping out significant deliveries of warm clothing, bedding, nappies, tinned food and first aid is a huge achievement.

This wrapped pallet, number 1000 is in addition to the forklift truck, an ambulance, 13 full vans, dozens of lorries and 4x4 vehicles loaded with goods that have gone from the warehouse.A spokesperson said: "We are making a significant difference to people's lives in Ukraine. "Our 41st lorry left on Friday, February 2 with another one leaving Wednesday, February 7. "The situation in Ukraine is dire, quite dire.

We simply can not comprehend what life is like for the majority who have no water, heating or electricity - that is why we are all doing what we do, and need to continue so. "None of this could be possible without the support of local communities from all over Scotland, and of course an amazing team of volunteers.TASH4Ukraine explained a new innovation: “We have compiled a revised ‘Winter Wishlist’ and created an Amazon Wishlist where people can donate from home and donations are delivered direct to the warehouse."We've been working with our partners in Ukraine who direct our supplies onto the frontline, to towns which are cut off, and to hospitals."The wishlist asks for items like sleeping bags, Thermos flasks, torches and batteries. The link is https://amzn.to/3JIBnpd
