Perth -based group has called for the Countryside Code to become part of Scotland’s school curriculum. The Scottish Gamekeepers Association was the driving force behind the first Rural Workers’ Protest, which took place online last month.Organisers made five key demands delivered to parliamentarians, with one being greater education around the code.
Many areas around Perth and Kinross have been blighted by access abuses such as fly-tipping, wild fires, out of control dogs and people being unaware of key livestock and wildlife breeding seasons.
It is hoped if the Countryside Code is taught in schools, it may help to alleviate these issues, especially with the Land Reform Act opening up the countryside and more people looking to explore.
