In a complete about-face from the business strategy employed by former WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar, Warner Bros. Discovery boss David Zaslav made it firm today that the new merged entertainment conglomerate “will fully embrace theatrical.” Period.

Warner Bros. Discovery expects to launch its combined HBO Max/Discovery+ streaming service in the U.S. next summer.

After Warner Bros.’ shocking announcement of the DC Comics film "Batgirl" being canceled, actress Leslie Grace — who was slated to play Barbara Gordon/Batgirl — is speaking out for the first time.  The "In the Heights" star took to Instagram on Wednesday and shared a series of movie images and footage from the set of the nearly $100 million superhero film, starting with the caption "Querida familia!" — meaning "Dear Family!" in Spanish.  "On the heels of the recent news about our movie ‘Batgirl,’ I am proud of the love, hard work and intention all of our incredible cast and tireless crew put into this film over 7 months in Scotland," Grace remarked. She continued to say how truly "blessed" she felt working with an incredible team on the project, and added a special note to all "Batgirl" fans: The DC Comics film "Batgirl" was set to feature "In the Heights" star Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl.

That’s up 22% 75.8 million on a pro-forma basis versus a year earlier.However, WBD’s streaming businesses lost subscribers domestically in Q2, dropping 300,000 — falling from 53.3 million in the first quarter to 53.0 million as of June 30.For Q1, AT&T — the prior owner of WarnerMedia and HBO Max — had reported 76.8 million total HBO and HBO Max subscribers worldwide, including 48.6 million domestically.

The triple-threat star is set to appear opposite Joaquin Phoenix in , the upcoming sequel to 2019’s and announced the news via social media on Thursday.The post shows a black-and-red video of Phoenix and Gaga's shadows joining together, along with the caption announcing the sequel's release date, Oct. 4, 2024.ET has reached out to Warner Brothers for comment.Details about Gaga’s role in the film have not been released, but it’s speculated that she will star as the Joker’s co-conspirator, Harley Quinn — his psychiatrist at the asylum who becomes his partner in crime.
