Armie Hammer will not be facing any charges stemming from an allegation of sexual assault from a woman — identified only as Effie — who accused the actor of “violently” raping her in 2017 in the midst of a four-year affair in which she claims he abused her “mentally, emotionally and sexually.”

US actor Armie Hammer says he is “very grateful” to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, following its decision not to charge him over allegations of sexual assault.The 36 year old said he was looking forward to “beginning what will be a long, difficult process of putting my life back together” now that his name had been cleared. Armie faced a series of damaging accusations over explicit messages he allegedly sent on social media and an accusation of rape by a woman in Los Angeles in March 2021.The actor, known for films including Call Me By Your Name and The Social Network, had denied all criminal allegations against him.

More than two years after it launched an investigation of actor Armie Hammer over sexual assault allegations, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said today that the actor won’t be charged.
