Thomas Lennon “Reno 911!” star Thomas Lennon worked closely with Matthew Perry on the CBS remake of “The Odd Couple,” which aired for three seasons and 38 episodes from 2015 and 2017. Perry developed and executive produced the show (with Danny Jacobson and Joe Keenan) and starred as Oscar Madison, opposite Lennon as Felix Unger. Lindsay Sloane, Yvette Nicole Brown and Wendell Pierce also starred in the series, based of course on the Neil Simon play (later made famous as a TV sitcom in the 1970s). It was a reunion for Lennon and Perry, who also worked together on the 2009 film “17 Again.” In that comedy, Perry and Lennon play best friends. Sad news: Joan Hotchkis (pictured in 1972) - who is best known for playing Oscar Madison's girlfriend on The Odd Couple - has passed away at 95Hotchkis later became a playwright, screenwriter, and feminist performance artist. She had a recurring role on the first two seasons of The Odd Couple in 1971 as she portrayed Nancy Cunningham, the classy girlfriend of Jack Klugman's slovenly sports writer character Oscar Madison. The actress also starred in NBC comedy My World And Welcome To It from 1969 to 1970 in addition to sitcom The Life And Times Of Eddie Roberts in 1980.Hotchkis went on to star in films including the aforementioned Breezy directed by Clint Eastwood.

Michaela Zee editor Joan Hotchkis, veteran stage and screen actor known for ABC’s “The Odd Couple” and “Legacy,” died Sept. 27 of congestive heart failure in Los Angeles, according to her daughter Paula Chambers. She was 95. Hotchkis starred opposite William Windom in the NBC sitcom “My World and Welcome to It,” and played the on-again/off-again girlfriend of Jack Klugman’s Oscar Madison in “The Odd Couple.” As a playwright, she wrote 1974’s “Legacy,” a one-woman play about an upper-class housewife who deteriorates mentally. The following year, she wrote and starred in the film adaptation of “Legacy,” which won the best newcomer award at the Tehran International Film Festival.
