Country singer Morgan Wade candidly discussed her upcoming plans to undergo a double mastectomy.

Alanis Morissette is using Sunday's 2023 CMT Music Awards as a networking event for female country stars, she told ET from the red carpet. «I love the sisterhood,» Morissette told ET's Cassie DiLaura before heading into the show. During the ceremony, she'll make her CMT debut with a performance of  «You Oughta Know» alongside Ingrid Andress, Lainey Wilson, Madeline Edwards and Morgan Wade.

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic A couple of members of a fresh generation of country music — Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson — came away as the top victors at Sunday night’s CMT Music Awards, broadcast live from Austin for the first time. But the biggest winners may have been CMT and CBS, putting the three-hour telecast on the map as a show packed with enough performance firepower that it does merit having made the move from a cable platform to major broadcast premiere as of last year. However much the official winners may delight a core country crowd happy to see young radio and streaming favorites get rewarded, the big draw for the CBS audience was likely a series of collaborations between country stars and their pop or rock counterparts, as has been the custom for years on the rival CMA Awards. Most notable were the all-female collabs that had Carly Pearce dueting with Gwen Stefani on No Doubt’s “Just a Girl,” or Alanis Morissette trading lines with a slate of young female artists that included Lainey Wilson, Ingrid Andress, Morgan Wade and Madeline Edwards. The all-star teamings spread to those who presented, too, with Megan Thee Stallion providing the most enthusiastic introduction imaginable for “my new besty,” Shania Twain.

2023 CMT Music Awards! The awards show has announced a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute that will include Billy Gibbons, Chuck Leavell, Cody Johnson, Paul Rodgers, Slash and Warren Haynes.The musicians will honor the band and the late original founding member Gary Rossington. LeAnn Rimes and Wynonna Judd will also be joining as the tribute as The Honkettes. The celebration comes 50 years after the launch of the band’s debut album. Dale Krantz Rossington, band member and wife of Rossington, is set to attend the tribute alongside fellow Lynyrd Skynyrd band members Johnny Van Zant and Rickey Medlock.This news comes after the show added Alanis Morissette and Gwen Stefani as performers to the star-studded lineup. On the collaborative front, Gwen Stefani will join recent No. 1 country hitmaker Carly Pearce for a duet of a yet-unannounced song. And Alanis Morissette will be joined on her original signature number, “You Oughta Know,” by four of country’s most compelling young artists — Morgan Wade, Madeline Edwards and chart-toppers Lainey Wilson and Ingrid Andress (plus guitarist Jackie Venson) — as part of a salute to the 10th anniversary of CMT’s Next Women of Country initiative. All four of Morissette’s singing counterparts on this collab came up being featured as part of the annual Next Women lineups.

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic The lineup of performers for the 2023 Americana Honors and Awards has been revealed, with Brandi Carlile, Lucinda Williams, Allison Russell, the Indigo Girls, Chris Isaak and Lukas Nelson among those set to take the stage Sept. 14 at Nashville’s storied Ryman Auditorium. The roster includes mostly artists who are either up for the annual awards or achieving lifetime achievement honors. Other set to perform include Adia Victoria, the McCrary Sisters, James McMurtry, Sierra Farrell, the War and Treaty, Morgan Wade, Neal Francis and Phosphorescent. The longtime band leader for the annual awards show, Buddy Miller, will be back with a crew of musicians that includes the aforementioned McCrary Sisters, Don Was, Larry Campbell, Brady Blade, Jen Gunderman, Jim Hoke, Rob Burger and Lorenzo Molina.

The Eagles have confirmed a number of additional special guests for their BST Hyde Park show in London this summer.Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, along with Vince Gill (who joined the band in 2017), will return to the UK and Ireland next month for a string of dates in Liverpool, Edinburgh, Dublin and London.The Eagles previously confirmed that they will be supported in London on June 26 by Robert Plant + Alison Krauss and Little Big Town, and the band have now added a number of additional special guests to the Hyde Park gig.Singer/songwriter Cam, Nashville artist Morgan Wade, London band The Wandering Hearts and New Jersey-raised musician Patrick Droney will all perform before the Eagles in June, with more artists set to be announced soon.“We are absolutely beside ourselves to be included in this line-up,” The Wandering Hearts said in a statement.“The Eagles have been a huge influence on us growing up and especially as a vocal harmony group.

This summer, Goldenvoice is branching off that approach into a one-day gathering of its own — the Palomino Festival — set to go down for the first time July 9 in Pasadena.Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson & Family and Jason Isbell are newly announced as the headliners for the inaugural event, which will take place at Brookside at the Rose Bowl, a park adjacent to the storied stadium that Goldenvoice has used for a number of other genre-specific festivals in the last decade.
