Mustafa has announced his first-ever world tour in support of his latest album ‘Dunya’.The Sudanese-Canadian poet and singer-songwriter – and recent NME Cover star – announced yesterday (December 10) that he will make a trek across the US before heading to UK and Europe, all before performing in Ethiopia and Sudan.Tickets for all US, UK and Europe dates will go on sale this Friday (December 13) at 10am PT time and 6pm UK time.Presales will commence on Thursday (December 12) at the same timeslots – head over to his official website here to sign up. Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic Shaun Martin, a multiple Grammy winner best known as a keyboard player for the jazz fusion group Snarky Puppy and a three-decade collaborator of gospel star Kirk Franklin, died Saturday at age 45. Martin had been under constant medical supervision since suffering a massive stroke in April 2023. In November, Franklin had posted a tribute hoping for Martin’s recovery against difficult odds, saying the musician was still “fighting for his life” and describing him at the time as “my right hand, my North Star, my musical collaborator for over 25 years.” Martin was also known for helping write and produce Erykah Badu‘s sophomore album, “Mama’s Gun,” as well as for being a member of Chaka Khan’s backing band, not to mention his role as a minister of music in one of Texas’ biggest churches.

Marcus Mumford has teamed up with Phoebe Bridgers on a new track called ‘Stonecatcher’ – you can listen to it below.The song appears on the Mumford & Sons frontman’s debut solo album ‘(self-titled)’, which came out today (September 16) via Island.Bridgers provided backing vocals on the delicate, stripped-back number. “Oh, my God, we’re here again/ It all slows down to lines in the sand,” the pair sing together in the understated chorus.During a recent interview with NME, Mumford explained that the ‘Punisher’ singer-songwriter has been his “friend for a long time”, adding: “We’ve had lots of conversations which have been really helpful to me over the years.”He continued: “I asked her whether she’d be down to come and hear something and whether she wanted to sing on it.

James Blake has shared a new one-hour composition, ‘Wind Down’ – you can hear the new track below.The new “soundscape” has been created by Blake in collaboration with the adaptive sound wellness app Endel – who have previously collaborated with Grimes – with the aim of helping their users “move gently towards a good night’s rest”.‘Wind Down’, which is available on Endel’s range of apps, joins the company’s growing range of sleep and relaxation experiences, which combine Endel’s “signature elegant visuals and sounds with evidence-based insights on what prepares us for a better night’s rest”.“In approximately two hours, Wind Down traces an arc from wakefulness to sleep based on scientific input from SleepScore Labs, which partnered with Endel on this project,” a press release adds.“Wind Down lets me explore the more ambient side of my music and create a project to support people in a new way,” Blake said in a statement about ‘Wind Down’, which you can hear above.“It’s mesmerising to hear how my music blends with the science-based sounds of Endel’s AI and I think we’ve invented something not just beautiful or even meaningful, but truly practical.” Blake, who recently collaborated with Monica Martin for a new rendition of the latter’s track ‘Go Easy, Kid’, will tour in the UK and Europe in April and May.
