Emmerdale's Michelle Hardwick hits back at troll over 'failed Hollywood career' jibe
Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick has taken to Twitter to hit back at a social media troll who aimed a jibe at her over her "failed Hollywood career".The Twitter user claimed that Michelle, 45, had returned to the ITV soap following a failed attempt at trying to make a name for herself in Hollywood, before the mother-of-one set the record straight and revealed the real reason she left the show in the first place.Earlier this week, the star, who plays Vanessa Woodfield in the popular ITV show, gave her fans an insight into filming conditions on set.She told her 114,300 followers: "Ok, so when I said the @emmerdale village was windy last week, that was NOTHING compared to today."Most of the replies addressed the windy weather in the village and commented on the show's storyline. However, one Twitter user, David Gray, took the opportunity to aim a jibe at the star over her "failed" Hollywood career. He wrote: "Seems to be more wind since you came back, what's wrong did it not work out in Hollywood," alongside a thinking face emoji. However, Michelle was quick to hit back, setting the record straight over her absence from the programme. The Emmerdale star wrote: "Hi David, if you actually followed me on Twitter, you’d probably know I left to have a baby."Didn’t have time to go to Hollywood," she added, next to a series of laughing face emojis. However, the troll didn't end there and explained that despite interacting with Michelle's tweets, he had no intention of following her on the micro-blogging platform.Michelle eventually ended the back and forth, wishing the social media user a "great day".After Michelle's initial response to David's comment, her followers were quick to weigh in on the thoughtless comment.Jackie Morrison
