Band opening for Marilyn Manson respond to backlash before deleting comments

Marilyn Manson at three upcoming shows has responded to the backlash against the gigs in now-deleted comments. In March, Manson announced his first live dates since a series of sexual abuse allegations emerged against him, opening for Five Finger Death Punch on a run of North American dates in August and September. Manson denies all of the allegations.Added to those are three headline shows, for which the band The Funeral Portrait will serve as the opening act. That band became the subject of criticism for accepting the gigs, and their bassist Robert Weston took to X to address the backlash (via Loudwire).“I’m sorry my band that has consistently played 200 cap venues for 7 years + has a chance to open shows in front of thousands of people and people wanna be upset by it,” he wrote, before swiftly deleting the post.“If you truly know the people we are and you know the grind we’ve been on, you wouldn’t be made,” he added.

Marilyn Manson used racial slur against The Smashing Pumpkins’ James Iha in text message to Johnny Depp
Marilyn Manson used a racial slur against The Smashing Pumpkins’ James Iha during a text message conversation with Johnny Depp. The conversation happened in 2016 after Lindsay Usich (Manson’s current wife) allegedly “filed a police report” against Manson. The text accuses Usich of “pulling an Amber (Heard)” by getting the police involved but, according to Manson, it was only because her brother-in-law James Iha and her “poor, fat Mom want to steal my money”. Marilyn Manson sexual assault lawsuit dismissed over statute of limitations
One of four sexual assault lawsuits filed against Marilyn Manson has been dismissed, after a judge ruled that the statute of limitations prevented the litigation from proceeding. The musician’s former assistant, Ashley Walters, sued Manson a year ago, accusing him of sexual harassment, abuse and battery during her time working for him between 2010 and 2011. Manson’s legal team had already successfully argued once before that Walters’ claims fell outside the statute of limitations, but she was given the opportunity to submit an amended complaint. In that amended filing, Walters said that, due to post-traumatic stress disorder, she had – until recently – suppressed her memories of what had happened to her while working for Manson. She had, said the lawsuit, been “unable to recall many of the physical and emotional abuses until the fall of 2020 when countless repressed memories flooded back to [her] after meeting numerous other victims of [Manson] and obtaining counselling from a mental health professional”.In California, where the case has been filed, the statute of limitations on sexual assault and harassment cases was three years, until 2020 when it was increased to ten years. However, according to Courthouse News, the judge overseeing the case, Michael Stern, said that the law change was not retroactive, meaning that Walters was still bound by the three year rule, requiring her to go legal within three years of the alleged abuse.

Thor fans reckon Christian Bale's baddie Gorr looks like Marilyn Manson as trailer drops
Thor fans' excitement has been building over the upcoming latest movie featuring everyone's favourite hammer-swinging Norse god and Avenger. In particular, they've been clamouring for footage of that film's main bad guy - namely Christian Bale's Gorr the God Butcher - with many fearing that he won't end up looking anything like he does in the comic books. And now the new trailer's finally dropped all those people seem to be saying the same thing - that he's more goth than Gorr and the spitting image of US shock rocker Marilyn Manson. The online promo from Marvel Studios, which landed earlier today, introduces Welsh-born Bale's arch villain as a white-skinned character in robes who sports scars all over his face and has fearsome glowing yellow eyes. But, while the movie's celebrated director Taika Waititi is already calling Bale "probably the best villain Marvels' ever had," fans have been taking to Twitter to express their own opinions. "Looks like Christian Bale's Gorr the God Butcher dipped into late '90s Marilyn Manson videos," posted one, while another added, "I, for one, am looking forward to Marilyn Manson making his debut as the newest Marvel villain.""Yo! Marilyn Manson is in this movie?" asked a third. What everyone seems to agree on, however, is that that the 48-year-old looks suitably scary, with one fan tweeting, "Bale is actually f*****g terrifying as Gorr...
