Clara Amfo after she felt it appropriate to joke about her wrongful jailing for murder to the US presidential election.The journalist shared a tweet which has been slammed as ‘tone-deaf’ by many on Twitter, where she said the outcome of the US election ‘can’t be as bad’ as the four years she spent in prison after being falsely accused of murder.Knox wrote in the early hours of Wednesday: ‘Whatever happens, the next four years can’t be as bad as that four-year study abroad I did in Italy, right?’As an exchange student in Italy, American Knox was accused of murdering her British flatmate, Meredith Kercher, 21, with her then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito while studying abroad in Perguia in 2007.
