Rian Johnson recently responded to a theory that Edward Norton's character from Glass Onion is based on Elon Musk. The 49-year-old director discussed the similarities during an interview with Wired published late last week. When asked what his next film might be about, Johnson asked the interviewer for an idea. The interviewer responded, 'The downfall of Twitter?' at which Johnson laughed and replied 'Downfall of Twitter.

The Netflix film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery garnered what is predicted to be a $15 million opening in its first week after a $13.3 million opening in its first five days.The box office totals were a record for Netflix, marking the streaming service's most lucrative theatrical release for a film prior to arriving online.The movie's three-day open of $9.3 million marks the tenth-best opening for a film in less than 900 theaters, finishing in front of titles such as 1991's The Doors, which made $9.1 million in 840 theaters; and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, which opened to $8.68 million in 530 theaters in 2004, Deadline reported. A new trailer for the Netflix upcoming sequel Knives Out 2, also known as Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, was shared on Monday morning.This clip focuses on tech billionaire Miles Bron, played by Edward Norton, who invites some of his nearest and dearest for a getaway on his private Greek island. But it soon becomes clear that all is not perfect in paradise. 'Tonight a murder will be committed,' says Bron to a shocked crowd. The murder mystery is a subgenre that has experienced a significant renaissance in the last few years. And much of that is due to writer/director Rian Johnson who seemingly singlehandedly revitalized the genre with his commercial and critical smash hit “Knives Out” in 2019.
