Gardeners' World favourite, Carol Klein, has expressed her gratitude after facing a harrowing health ordeal earlier this year.

Gardeners' World star Carol Klein has shared a health update after previously revealing her breast cancer diagnosis.The 78 year old gardening expert initially broke the news of her cancer to her followers in early May. She revealed that she had undergone a double mastectomy and now, while presenting at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, which saw stars such as Beverly Knight and Ben Shepard attend, for the BBC, Carol has joyfully announced that her cancer has been eradicated.

Carol Klein, the nation's TV gardening favourite, has confessed that her army recruit father had found it tough when he discovered his first child would not be a boy. While everyone else was celebrating the end of the Second World War a month earlier, Carol's father was mourning the loss of the son he'd never had.Joking about her conception, Carol explained: "Dad was in the Army so must have had leave nine months earlier.“He was always distressed that I was a girl and I was actually called Bill for the first year and a half of my life by him and my grandad."Thankfully for her, her mother then gave birth to a little brother for her who could take on the name Bill instead."He’s the brother I lost....
