Thania Garcia Chuck Jackson, a vocalist of the doo-wop group Del-Vikings and the singer in Burt Bacharach and Bob Hilliard’s “Any Day Now,” died on Feb. 16 in Atlanta. He was 85. News of his passing was confirmed in a Facebook post by Ady Croasdell of Ace Records’ Kent Records division, a UK label that had been reissuing his recordings. No cause of death was given. “There are confirmed reports that one of the very greatest soul singers of all time, Chuck Jackson, died on February 16th,” Croasdell wrote. “His 60s and 70s recordings are hugely important works, revered as much now as on release…His passing will be deeply felt around the world.”

The music community has been paying tribute to Burt Bacharach, who has died aged 94. A representative confirmed to media that the legendary music-maker died on Wednesday at home in LA of natural causes.Born in Kansas City, Bacharach studied music at universities and schools in Montreal, New York and California.

Travis Scott has been accused of violating a gag order earlier this week (March 28).Attorneys for some of the victims of last year’s Astroworld tragedy alleged in court on Monday that Scott violated a gag order that was issued in lawsuits they filed relating to the case.The rapper is currently facing hundreds of lawsuits over the events that unfolded at Astroworld in Houston in November, where 10 people died and 300 people were injured at the festival following a crowd surge.The attorneys allege that breaking the rules of the gag order could influence future jurors and improve Scott’s reputation ahead of any potential trial.It stems from an announcement that Scott made earlier this month regarding ‘Project HEAL’, an initiative that includes funding for large-scale events to help them address safety challenges.On social media, Scott wrote: “My team and I created Project HEAL to take much needed action towards supporting real solutions that make all events the safest spaces they can possibly be. The family of Ezra Blount, the 9-year-old who was killed from injuries sustained at the Nov. 5 Astroworld concert, has rejected Travis Scott‘s offer to pay for the young boy’s funeral. In a letter obtained by Rolling Stone on November 29, Blount family lawyer Bob Hilliard told Travis’ legal team, “Your client’s offer is declined. I have no doubt Mr. Scott feels remorse. His journey ahead will be painful. He must face and hopefully see that he bears some of the responsibility for this tragedy.” Ezra was the youngest of the ten victims of the Astroworld tragedy, which involved a dangerous crowd surge ensuing while Travis, 30, was on stage performing at NRG Park in Houston, Texas, in front of around 50,000 people.
