Person airlifted to hospital after glider crashed into Scots hill

A man has been airlifted to hospital after a glider crashed into a hillside in Perth and Kinross on Tuesday.The man's condition is unknown following the incident, which took place around 2pm.

The helicopter attended and took the casualty for emergency treatment in Edinburgh.Footage from the scene shows the helicopter landing on the hillside then ascending from just below the hilltop near a group of bushes, before flying east.

The glider is reportedly from the Scottish Gliding Centre at Portmoak Airfield in Scotlandwell, around six miles from Kinross.Police and other emergency services including mountain rescue vehicles were seen heading to the scene, with police officers seen in streets near the bottom of the hill.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.50pm on Tuesday police were called to a report of a glider crash at Bishop Hill, Kinross.
