Pep Guardiola says he will stay as Manchester City manager for life if he gets the chance. The Blues boss made that remarkable claim after being linked with the Brazil coach job when his current City deal expires at the end of next season, saying he would sign a ten-year deal if offered one.
Guardiola has repeatedly expressed his happiness with life at City, but has always been cautious about discussing the length of his stay - largely because he knows that any manager is subject to the fortunes of the game.
But ahead of Sunday’s big showdown with Liverpool he made it plain that, if he has his way, he could stay for the long term.
Reports in Spain claimed he was being lined up to join Brazil in a little over 12 months, and he has said before that the prospect of coaching a national team in big tournaments appeals to him.
