City risked another good performance going unrewarded when sloppy errors handed Everton a 1-0 lead at Goodison Park against the run of play in their first Premier League game since being crowned world champions in Saudi Arabia.
However, Phil Foden led the resurgence and scored the equaliser before Julian Alvarez netted a penalty and Bernardo Silva made the game safe in the closing minutes.
Guardiola described the game as 'massive' after the win and is happy that his team are still among the frontrunners in a Premier League that appears to be more competitive than in previous seasons.
