Police Scotland has launched an investigation after a pensioner died as a result of a two-car crash.The 77-year-old passed away after being involved in a smash on the A76, near the Ayrshire village of Catrine, on Wednesday, January 4.
He was driving a Vauxhall Crossland at around 7.15pm when it was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Corsa being driven by a 30-year-old man.Emergency services attended, with both police officers and an ambulance racing to the scene, but the pensioner was pronounced dead.
The Corsa driver and a 28-year-old woman were taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. Hospital staff have described their conditions as serious but stable.
A police probe is now underway to establish exactly what happened.The man's death an investigation were revealed in a post on Police Scotland's Ayrshire Police Division Facebook page.
