Baby tragically dies after being rushed to hospital as 31-year-old man arrested

A 31-year-old man has been arrested after a baby who was rushed to hospital has tragically died. The youngster became unwell at a home in Blaby, Leicestershire, on January 15 and a man has been arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm or death.The incident was reported and several emergency vehicles were sent out to Sycamore Street on Sunday, the Mirror reports.

Leicestershire Police confirmed at the time it was supporting 'other agencies' in response to a child who had fallen seriously unwell.The infant was subsequently rushed to hospital and the force has now sadly confirmed the child has passed away.

Police are currently investigating how the baby became unwell and what caused the death.A 32-year-old woman was also voluntarily interviewed under caution.

Officers are asking people not to speculate while their enquiries are in the early stages.A spokesman for the force said: "A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing/allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm or death and has been released on police bail.
