A pensioner died and a man was rushed to hospital after the pair were hit by a car on a Scots street.Emergency services raced to Lesmahagow Road, Strathaven,at around 7pm on Tuesday, January 3 after reports of the incident.The 78-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 67-year-old man was rushed to the University Hospital Wishaw.Police said a 61-year-old woman has now been arrested.Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.Locals reported seeing a heavy police presence in the area.
