Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has hinted at a “new generation” show, as the Cillian Murphy-starring movie wraps up filming.The sixth season of the show was released in 2022 but instead of a seventh, Knight wants to finish up the story of Murphy’s Tommy Shelby and the rest of his criminal mates with a feature film.READ MORE: Here’s everything we know about the ‘Peaky Blinders’ movieThe film is written by Knight and directed by Tom Harper, who directed three episodes of the show.
Murphy will reprise his role of Shelby, alongside a supporting cast made up of Stephen Graham, Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan and Tim Roth.
The film will be distributed by Netflix, but no release date has been confirmed.In a new interview with Paris Match Knight spoke about the future of Peaky Blinders now that the movie has finished filming.
He has also hinted at a potential follow-up with a new generation of characters.“We are going to focus on the new generation in a series that will take place after the Second World War.
