Justin Verlander has reportedly inked a new deal to play for the San Francisco Giants! The 41-year-old pitcher became a free agent after playing with the Houston Astros in 2024 and will start 2025 on a new team. Keep reading to find out more… According to ESPN, Justin has signed a one year contract with the team, pending a physical, worth $15 million!

This will be his 20th season in the MLB, and his first as part of a West Coast team. He previously played for the Detroit Tigers, New York Mets and Houston Astros.

Currently, Justin is one of the best pitchers with “the most innings pitched, strikeouts and wins among active players.” Last year, he started the season with the Astros on the injured list after having complications with should inflammation during spring training.

He hit the field in April, but went back on the injured list in June, before returning in August. The first spring training game for the SF Giants in 2025 is scheduled for February 22nd against the Texas Rangers.
